Current AI negotiation tools optimize for price and terms without modeling the emotional dynamics that determine whether a deal closes, and they do so within an emerging regulatory frame that increasingly demands explainable, auditable, and bounded behavior from any AI system that interacts on behalf of a principal. Affective state as a deterministic control primitive, disclosed under USPTO provisional 64/049,409, supplies the structural substrate that procedurally trained negotiation models cannot, by exposing persistent fields for rapport, tension, momentum, and patience that govern strategy decisions in a manner that is at once emotionally sophisticated and forensically reconstructable.
