The gap

Independently governed meshes cannot share observations, coordinate actions, or settle transactions across their boundaries without a shared authority or consensus protocol. In coalition operations, cross-corporate supply chains, and multi-jurisdictional smart-city deployments, meshes operate in isolation — each maintaining its own governance chain, coordinate frame, time consensus, and authority taxonomy.

There is no standard for reconciling observations across meshes that have been intentionally disconnected, that use different authority taxonomies, or that do not wish to share a consensus protocol.

The invention

A cross-mesh reconciliation primitive that federates independently governed meshes without requiring a shared authority or consensus protocol. A credentialed taxonomy translator produces equivalence attestations between authority taxonomies. A temporal reconciliation engine aligns time-ordering of observations produced while meshes were disconnected. Lineage-preserving import carries forward source-mesh identity into the target mesh.

A divergence detector identifies observations that should agree but do not. Partitioned operation and intentional disconnect mode support air-gapped, sovereignty-constrained, and persistently disconnected meshes. Coalition interoperability instantiates the architecture for multi-national defense operations.

The inventive step

Prior art reconciles distributed systems through shared authorities (root CAs, global consensus) or bilateral trust agreements. Cross-mesh reconciliation reconciles through structural mechanisms — taxonomy translation, temporal alignment, divergence detection — rather than shared authority. Meshes that have never shared a governing authority can federate through the primitive itself.

The departure is that reconciliation is a structural capability of the mesh architecture, not a governance relationship between mesh operators.

On its own, cross-mesh reconciliation enables coalition military operations, cross-corporate supply chains, multi-jurisdictional smart city deployments, and any setting where independently governed meshes must interoperate without sharing authority.
